A modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of West Texas oil rigs
Watch writer/director Taylor Sheridan’s top movies and TV shows on IMDb, ranked by user ratings. A landman, at least one who works in the oil industry, will act as a go-between for exploration companies and landowners.
Typically, a landman’s job is to negotiate and finalize contracts with landowners who have mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent. As foremen on a construction site, they build roads, worker housing (man camp), oversee the assembly of excavation machinery, and the drilling of the well site itself, especially in remote locations.
They are also part of the fixer, problem solver, and helper. So far the show is good very good, one feeling I can’t shake is the daughter.
The show states that the daughter is 17, then sexualizes her in an extreme way! All of those scenes have 0 to do with the storyline and are therefore uncomfortable to watch.
I understand what they are doing with the character, the daughter is going down the wrong path and her dad is going to guide her down the right path. It could have easily been avoided by just stating that she is 18, you can be 18 and still be in high school!
Sonic the Hedgehog returns to the big screen this holiday season in his most exciting adventure yet. Sonic, Knuckles and Tails once again face a powerful new enemy, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike anything they’ve faced before. Team Sonic’s abilities are overwhelming in every way, so they must seek an unlikely alliance in hopes of stopping Shadow and protecting the planet.
CIA agent Joe struggles to balance his personal and professional life as the spearhead of the agency’s war on terror. Real-life military advisors helped make the execution of weapons handling, house cleaning, positioning, squad-based activities, etc. more authentic. Featured in Premios Soberano (2024). Being a fan of Taylor Sheridan, I’ve been eagerly awaiting Special Ops: Lioness since I first heard about it. Then I saw the trailers and my excitement grew. This is definitely another success in Sheridan’s long list of successes. It seems like everything she does is fantastic. It follows the story of Joe (Zoe Saldana), who works for the CIA and their war on terror. While struggling to balance her personal and professional lives, she recruits an undercover agent named Cruz (Leisla de Oliveira) into the Lioness program to work alongside her to stop some terrorists. The great series also stars Morgan Freeman, Nicole Kidman, Michael Kelly, Jill Wagner and LaMonica Garrett.

Four kids on their home planet make a mysterious discovery that leaves them lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Jude Law in "Skeleton Crew" and more stars from a galaxy far, far away. Like most kids from the 80s, I have fond memories of The Goonies, but I’d be lying if I said it was the direction I really wanted new Star Wars content to go.
I think after the disappointments of the sequel trilogy and many others – all of Disney’s live-action content, with the exception of Andor, Rogue One, and the first two seasons of Mando – I’m just craving some good, mature, epic Star Wars content. Give me a show like Andor set in the Old Republic with Jedi, Sith, and Nick Gillard as a stunt coordinator in lightsaber battles. HOWEVER…
It’s not offensive or poorly made; not blatantly cheap like the Boba Fett book; not pointless like Mando Season 3; not lore-breaking like the sequels and Kenobi; not deaf like Acolyte. Hooray? This is basically Star Wars Goonies, a neat little story about a bunch of kids having an adventure in the Star Wars universe.
I think this, like Andor, is a passion project for its creators and was seen as a little side project by the Higher-ups who therefore didn’t bother to get involved, which is a blessing for Lucasfilm these days. "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month. Check out our December calendar for more details!
Big Nick goes hunting in Europe again and gets close to Donnie, who is drawn into the insidious world of diamond thieves and the infamous Panther Mafia as they plot a large-scale robbery of the world’s largest diamond exchange. Gerard Butler said in an interview that the film will have a more European atmosphere, since this time the action takes place in the diamond district of Marseille.. Follows Lopov Brotherhood (2018)
After surviving Art the Clown’s Halloween massacre, Sienna and her brother struggle to rebuild their shattered lives. As the holiday season approaches, they try to embrace the Christmas spirit and leave the horrors of the past behind. The holiday season quickly unravels as Art unleashes his own twisted brand of terror, proving that no holiday is safe.
Four children make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that leads them to get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. The holographic circus that Neel’s younger siblings are entertained by is the same one Chewbacca’s family watches in the infamous The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978).
I approach this review with caution, admitting that “Skeleton Crew” seems to be aimed at a younger audience. While kids may enjoy it, I found the first four episodes quite disappointing.
The story lacks depth, feeling more like a children’s movie that jumps from place to place without much consequence. The acting, while not terrible, could have been better, especially considering the caliber of some of the cast.
The writing is impressive, but it can’t save the story, which feels slow and ultimately forgettable. Perhaps the series improves later on, but based on my first viewing, I’m still not convinced.
